Knowledge – Feng Shui Study Tips for Home

It's the time of year when schools of all levels and types are back in session sharing knowledge, making it the perfect time to discuss some Feng Shui study tips to improve and anchor that which is learned. This will help children as well as adults.

Several of the schools for Feng Shui training use a diagram or map of the different areas of the building, home or office called a Ba-Gua that includes an area within them known as the area of "knowledge." To help you better understand where this area resides, I've included a diagram.

The Ba-Gua Map used in Feng Shui training for Feng Shui study within the Ba-Gua School, BTB and Three-door Systems shows the nine areas of life represented by the nine areas of the Ba-Gua. A person will enter a building, home, room or office through one of the three doors located at the base of the diagram. This is based on the location of the main door. If the main door or doorway is on the left side along the front, it is a "knowledge" doorway. If it is a doorway in the center of the front wall, it is a "career" doorway. If it is a doorway on the front section on the right side of the doorway, it is a "helpful people" doorway.

As you can see, there are three entrances located at the bottom of the diagram. Those would be considered the main doorway into the building, home, room or office. Dividing the space roughly into thirds both directions, you will have created nine (9) different areas within the structure representing the nine (9) areas of our life. The main doorway is always used and the main doorway is considered to be along that bottom line. We turn the Ba-Gua map around to make the doors line up with the bottom line of the diagram of the Ba-Gua. To help you with this, I've included a diagram of the BA-Gua.

There are eight areas around the side of the Ba-Gua with the ninth area located in the center.  The words "Ba" and "Gua" mean "eight" and "side". We have an eight-sided object, or octagon, that is a Feng Shui symbol of balance and harmony for our buildings, rooms and lives.

Having given you the basis for using the Ba-Gua system, we can now focus on the area of "knowledge" to stimulate it, anchor it, reinforce it and utilize it to maximize our results when we study or are in some way gaining knowledge. The area of "knowledge" is that area located at the front on the lefthand side of the building, room or office. There are other areas within the Ba-Gua we can incorporate Feng Shui cures or Feng Shui remedies to support learning and knowledge that will be discussed in another post.

Here are five Feng Shui tips for home to improve the energy for learning.

  1. Place your desk or a child's desk in the knowledge area of the home or person's bedroom.
  2. Paint at least one wall blue in the knowledge area of the home or bedroom.
  3. Put a map on the wall or door. It can be a local, state, nation or world map. For a young child, it might be a map to their school. For a teenager, a regional or national map is good. If they were studying World History, an historical world map would be appropriate. For an adult, a map of the world might be perfect, especially if there are travel plans desired.
  4. Have a bookcase located in the knowledge area of the home or living room.
  5. Display degrees, learning achievements or certifications within sight of the desk.

Most of these are rather simple to do. I have had clients achieve fabulous successes even though they have implemented only one of these.

One mother had a child who was failing most, if not all, of their classes. She moved the desk to the knowledge area when she learned about these Feng Shui study tips. The child's attention at school improved immediately with the child passing every class, actually receiving an A or B in some of them.

Another client was very discouraged as she had tried numerous times to finish her thesis. Life kept getting in the way. She moved her desk and painted a wall blue over one weekend. The following week she called to see what she needed to move forward with the process to get her advanced degree. The person she contacted not only helped her, but gave her several tips to speed up the process, making it much easier. A year later she finished all required work, receiving her degree. Doing this qualified her for a pay raise and ultimately a promotion to an incredible position where her talents are able to be shared and recognized.

The color blue is a power color that enhances our ability to see, hear and think things more clearly, thus improving our study skills and knowledge retention. By placing ourselves in the knowledge area of our homes, we resonate with the right vibration to enhance our endeavors to learn.

September is a time for studying and learning in many areas of our lives. Let's take advantage of our Feng Shui knowledge, using our Feng Shui tips for home improvement, to improve our lives.
